Before 2016, I had been to Majorca twice – once with school friends in the seventies and once in the early nineties. I had an impression of it being all about Magaluf and parties for hens and stags. How wrong was I and how lovely it was to explore this beautiful island. The idea was spawned by watching Michael Portillo’s travel programme travelling through Spain, featuring Majorca and especially his ride on the Orange Express train from Palma to Soller. We left Majorca knowing that, at just a couple of hours’ hop away, it wouldn’t be long before we returned.
Since I have only just set up this travel blog, I am backtracking to catch up on recent trips. I’ll expand this post and describe the trip in more detail as soon as I come up for air. In the meantime, here is a selection of my favourite photos from Majorca.
